I take pictures because it makes me vulnerable. And vulnerability is deeply important to build better societies. It removes all armor from me and allows me to get in contact with myself from a kind place to create.
I’m mostly interested in autobiographical topics coming from my own mental processes, introspections and consciousness because that is what I know best. My goal as a photographer who works with autobiographical issues is to start a dialogue with the otherness and build something collective from it. To build a narrative from the personal to a universal magnitude.
I derive my work from my own experiences because I've discovered that what is personal is also collective, and that revealing the unconscious can transform our societies. This last part is one of my main goals as an artist.
I’m convinced that what I photograph reflects my unconscious and this has become an endless way to discover myself and therefore, others.
I believe my work is deeply connected with symbolisms and metaphors, as a way to reveal myself. In words of Sara Terry, is "the exploration of metaphor and emotion through photography".
Photography is my foundation. What has given me the most important and deepest reflections to see myself and others too.
